I remember reading about a holy monk who was dying. The superior of the order went to visit him and said to him:
“In the name of holy obedience, I ask you to tell us why the Blessed Virgin helped you so much in your life.”
The monk, in obedience, revealed his secret:
“Every morning, when I awoke, the first thing I did was entrust my day to the Virgin, asking for her protection and her maternal love.”
That seemed wonderful to me, and since then I have done it too. When I wake up, I first thank God for the day I’m going to live, the opportunity he gives me to get close to him. Then, looking at a picture of our beautiful Heavenly Mother, I entrust the day to her and ask for her love and protection.
Throughout my life, I have experienced her maternal protection, even without deserving it. I have not been the best of your kids. I’ve let her down hundreds of times with my behavior. And hundreds of times she helps me to remember that we are all children of God and that, animated, she awaits us in Paradise.
When one speaks evil of the Virgin, I defend my Mother, trying to be merciful. I pray a Hail Mary in silence and entrust this person to the Virgin.
“She’s my mother,” and I’m glad I can say that. If I could, I would go to the squares and shout, “The Virgin Mary is our Heavenly Mother.”
That is why I read so carefully the messages they left us at Fatima:
“Make sacrifices for sinners and say many times, especially when they make a sacrifice:” O Jesus, it is for your love, for the conversion of sinners and for reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary! “(July 13, 1917 ).
“Pray, pray much, and make sacrifices for sinners. Many souls go to hell, because there is no one who sacrifices and begs for them “(August 19, 1917).
Can I ask you a favor? If, as you read this you are in Fatima, you could greet our Mother for me and say to her:
“Sweet Virgin Mary, Claudius asked me to greet you and leave you a message of son love.”
Oh, sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation!
